In June 2021 we received the prestigious Green Key award, a leading standard of excellence in the field of environmental responsibility and sustainable operation within the tourism industry. The companies who have received this award have gone through a third-party audition process and are committed to high environmental standards.
Green Key helps us spread environmental awareness
“Environmental matters are not new to us. We have taken them into consideration in our daily actions since we started operating,” says Eva Lindström, our head of sales and environmental issues. So why apply for the award now? “Environmental awareness has grown amongst our guests and tour organisers recently. We wish to promote it even further, and it is easier to do with the help of an internationally recognized environmental program like the Green Key,” Eva points out.
Sustainable Travel Finland label
In August 2023 Levi Igloos has been granted Sustainable Travel Finland label as a recognition of valuable and long-term work for sustainable tourism. Sustainable Travel Finland is a national sustainable travel program managed by Visit Finland. It takes into account, environmental, socio-cultural, and economic sustainability.

We have listed our environmental efforts on the responsibility page of our website. In the future we will commit even stronger to sorting waste and using organic and locally sourced produce in our restaurant, among other things. We have already made many environmental efforts that are not so visible to the bare eye: “For example the working clothes of our restaurant staff are made of recycled materials” reveals Eva Lindström.
